SECURITY BULLETIN Beware of strangers in parking lots.
CANCELLATION --Subsequent investigation, including additional information from other witnesses, has revealed that an individual had sustained an injury near the soccer field at approximately the same time as this incident. Therefore, this incident has been ruled as "unfounded." However, please continue to follow good crime prevention tactics, including remaining vigilant to unusual behavior, when traveling in parking areas.

LOCATION:Fuller Pool parking lot (north side of Fuller Road)
An unknown man reportedly approached a parked car in the lot which was occupied by a staff person at about 7:30 p.m. June 30, 2008. The man tried to lure the staff person from her car by asking her to help him with "an injured friend" in a nearby field. Though she couldn't see the injured person, she offered to call 911; the man refused and walked away.
Subject description: Hispanic male in his 40s, black hair, about 5'8" with a medium build. He spoke poor English. He did not touch her, make a threat or display a weapon.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact DPS at 734/763-1131.
This incident serves as a good reminder to everyone that each of us plays an important role in maintaining safety and security on our campus. We must:
* remain vigilant for out-of-the-ordinary activity;
* secure all belongings and never leave items unattended;
* carefully follow established security procedures, especially for secured areas; and
* call DPS immediately if you observe suspicious behavior in your building or parking lot.
