CRIME ALERT: University of Michigan DPS

Offense:	Unlawful Entry
Summary:	(updated on Aug 28 2009 09:17) Resident woke up to find a subject leaning into his ground level room through an open window. The subject engaged the resident in a brief conversation before leaving in an unknown direction on foot. No threats were made and no weapons observed. The victim's screen was found to have been damaged.
Suspects:	1: White male, college aged, average build, brown curly hair, no facial hair or glasses, wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

If you see a suspect, do not approach--call police.
Always keep your doors locked, even while at home.
Look assertive and be aware of your surroundings.
Be aware that your risk increases in secluded and isolated areas.
Walk with a trusted friend or co-worker when possible.
Trust your intuition. If a particular situation makes you feeluncomfortable or unsafe, choose an alternative.
Have your keys in hand before you reach your vehicle or residence.
If you feel threatened on campus, look for a blue light emergencyphone or call 9-1-1 from any phone (no coins need for 9-1-1 calls).
