NEWS New 2009-2010 Campus Safety Handbooks now available

The Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce that the 2009-10 edition of the University of Michigan Campus Safety Handbook is available. An electronic copy of the 35-page book is available on the DPS Web site at http://police.umich.edu/docs/clery.pdf Hard copy versions are available from several administrative offices and main libraries, including the Office of Student Affairs and the Admissions office in the Student Activities Building.

The Handbook is an excellent resource for issues of campus safety, including emergency services, safety tips, University policies and state laws, and additional support services. New in this year's edition is a section on fire safety in on-campus housing and DPS's 10-point Promise for responding to reports of sexual assaults.

The publication also includes three-year statistics of reported crime, including bias-motivated crimes, on the Ann Arbor campus and adjoining properties in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
